Gutter Cleaning
Gutter & Downspout Cleaning in Kirkland, WA
Clearing gutters and downspouts so rainwater moves off the roof and away from the property the way the system was meant to move it.
Service Overview
A gutter only works when water can travel freely from the roof, through the trough, into the downspout, and away from the house. Every part of that path has to be clear.
Needles, leaves, moss, grit, and seed pods build up steadily, and once a section packs down the water stops going where it should. That matters more here than in drier places. The rain in western Washington is constant rather than dramatic, so a clogged gutter overflows over and over through the wet season, dumping water in the same spots along the siding, walkways, and foundation.
We clear the gutters and downspouts, flush what is clogged, and make sure the system is draining before we leave. It can be booked on its own or scheduled alongside roof cleaning.

Gutter cleaning before and after
Signs Your Gutters Need Attention
Most homeowners notice one of these before they notice the gutters themselves.
Water Spilling Over the Edge
Water pouring off the front of the gutter during rain usually means the trough is packed or the downspout is blocked.
Plants Growing in the Gutter
If you can see seedlings, grass, or moss from the ground, there is enough packed debris up there to hold soil and moisture.
Downspouts That Barely Trickle
If it is raining hard and almost nothing is coming out of the downspout, the water is sitting somewhere it should not be.
Staining Below the Gutter Line
Repeated overflow leaves marks down the siding and trim and can splash soil back onto the lower part of the house.
Erosion or Pooling
Trenched soil, washed out beds, or standing water in the same spot after rain often trace back to a gutter that is not carrying water away.
It Has Been Over a Year
Under conifers, a single fall can fill a gutter. If you cannot remember the last cleaning, it is worth a look.

Our Gutter Cleaning Process
How the service runs from setup to cleanup, plus the preventative step we recommend.
- 01
Safe Setup
We start by setting up the ladder correctly and safely, using the necessary safety equipment for any roof work.
- 02
Debris Removal
We remove debris from the gutters and flush any clogged downspouts to restore proper flow. If the roof is walkable, we also blow off debris on the roof itself.
- 03
Cleanup
We clear all walkways of debris and safely put our equipment away, leaving the property clean and clear.
- 04Recommended
Moss Prevention
We recommend applying a moss prevention treatment to help protect the roof and reduce future moss growth. It is an optional preventative step, not a standard part of the cleaning.
Gutter Brightening Is a Separate Service
Cleaning the inside of a gutter and cleaning the outside of one are two different jobs. The black streaking that shows up on the face of gutters will not come off with a normal wash, no matter how clean the trough is.
Gutter brightening is offered as specialty work and is quoted separately. If the outside of your gutters is what is bothering you, say so in your estimate request so we can look at both parts together.
Moss prevention is preventative maintenance. It helps reduce future growth, but it is not a guarantee against moss coming back, and it does not replace regular roof and gutter service.

Questions
Frequently Asked
How often should gutters be cleaned?+
It depends on the property. Homes surrounded by conifers fill much faster than open lots, and a lot of properties here need attention at least once a year, usually after the fall drop.
Do you clean the downspouts too?+
Yes. We flush clogged downspouts so the water actually leaves the system instead of backing up into the gutter.
Do you get on the roof?+
If the roof is walkable, we also blow off the debris sitting on it. Any roof work is done using the necessary safety equipment.
Can gutter cleaning be done without roof cleaning?+
Yes. It can be a standalone service, or we can schedule it together with roof cleaning.
What is the moss prevention treatment?+
It is a recommended add on rather than part of the standard job. We apply a treatment to help protect the roof and cut down on future moss growth. It is preventative, not a guarantee.
Do you remove the black streaks on my gutters?+
That is on the outside face of the gutter, and cleaning the inside will not take it off. Gutter brightening is offered as specialty work.
